  Job Description
Position Summary
Position Description: Responsible for activities involved in the analysis, design, development, troubleshooting, debugging and maintenance of enterprise data warehouse systems. Also responsible for formulating and implementing the team's technical vision, providing hands-on insight into system architecture, data software development and data warehouse design. Establishes database management systems, standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical data model capacity planning, external data interface specs, data loading, data maintenance plan and security policies. Collaborates with data modelers and facilitate interaction between DBAs and data modelers for logical and physical data models. Determine appropriateness of data storage, archive, purge and backup strategies. Database designing, database performance, management and tuning experience. Enforce database standards and procedures. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to others on the team. Skill Set: Experience in Database development field. Experience leading large multi-resource teams with interdependent initiatives to successful completion. Capable of working proficiently at both strategic and tactical aspects of a project. Ability to code complex programs and derive logical processes. Commanding knowledge of current industry database standards such as Web Services, Object Oriented Development, Collaborative development techniques as well as knowledge of Project management discipline within Information Technology field. Capable of communicating in both verbal and written form to the level of published.
Brief Nature of Work:
For a suite of Enterprise Applications, this individual will be responsible for database schema, SQL scripting, automation and other application administration and support work. The Enterprise Application suite consists of Pharmacy and Point of Sale applications
Among other things, one technical Stack consists of Java swing client, WebLogic, Oracle RDBMS; other technical stack is WebSphere and Oracle based
work will require deployment, administration tasks and working with vendor to engineer more efficient and scalable solutions
ability to provide Level 2 production support, work in shifts and at times on weekends

Required Skills:
Strong command of SQL, DML manipulation
WebLogic administration - installation, application configuration, monitoring and support
shell scripting, PERL
AIX, Suse Linux knowledge (as a Database/App administrator and not as expert AIX or LX administrator)
knowledge of n-tier application architecture
ability to coordinate delivery by partnering with all concerned

Required Experience:
any enterprise application administration experience
ability to automate application installation tasks
prior development Oracle DBA experience
