  Job Description
Key responsibilities

·To interpret and analyse business requirements and specify innovative and practical software solutions
·To develop high quality software in order to maintain and enhance current business systems
·To design and specify proposed systems and co-ordinate a team of developers to deliver a successful implementation
·To supervise, motivate, train and develop team members
·To perform unit testing where required
·To co-ordinate project development working closely with business users resulting in a successful delivery
·Ensure that all development activities are carried out efficiently to a very high standard, adhering to the methodologies and standards in place
·Ensure that the Technical Team Manager is kept informed of progress, issues and difficulties and provide proposals to overcome identified problems and concerns.

Skills and experience:
·Proven experience of leading a team of Developers
·Experience of software development in a commercial environment
·Thorough understanding of developing and supporting systems in a Microsoft environment
·Programming knowledge to include VB.net, VB6, SQL 2000, MS Windows XP
·Additional knowledge ofVB.net 2005, C#, Crystal Reports, SalesLogix, MS Access is desirable
·Technical knowledge of Laptop and Server set up would be an advantage
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·Proven time management and organisational skills
·Possession of an ordered and disciplined approach to software development, including writing and executing comprehensive test plans in order to ensure all software and systems are robust, efficient and of high quality.
·Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
