Diarmuid Lynam

Diarmuid is our General Manager and Senior recruitment specialist. His remit is to recruit, train and manage the recruitment consultants and administration staff as well as being a hands-on recruitment consultant. Diarmuid expanded the firm into new markets, created new management structures and ensured the successful growth of the company. He personally identified and won key new clients and supported consultants in project management.
Diarmuid has extensive recruitment experience in Ireland, and retains as clients some of Irelands most significant employers. Prior to advancing into a recruitment role, Diarmuid was a Team Leader in a Telecommunications firm. Diarmuid has a superb reputation in the recruitment of all levels of staff from administration to senior management.

Michael Kennedy is our Head of Financial & Accounting Recruitment. Michael was educated in St. Conleth College, Ballsbridge, and has a degree in Economics and Philosophy from University College Dublin. Michael has worked for some of Dublin's most prestigious professional firms including Davy Stockbrokers, and BDO Simpson Xavier. He has a great depth of industry experience including a number of years in management consulting. Michael also heads the Payroll Department, supervising weekly contract payroll for a number of clients.

Paul is one of our senior recruitment consultants specializing in Call Centre, Multi-lingual staff and administration staff. Before joining the team at 1-800People, Paul gained international experience working in a variety of industries including Aerospace. He also has worked with PriceWaterhouse Coopers where he was a soft-skills staff trainer. He then went on to work as a Recruitment Coordinator with Eriksson’s division of Global services in North America. Paul is a native of Belfast and is a Business graduate from Southampton University.

  Job Description
Role:
1. Work with Windows and UNIX/Linux Systems Administration groups, Storage Engineers, and various internal and external customer groups to schedule and complete server installation and maintenance activities.
2. Create, track, process and close work tickets and change requests.
3. Configure and install new servers into Dublin data center facilities. Hands on activity working in the data center to rack, connect, and power servers and other components.
4. Reconfigure existing servers to meet workload growth demands. Hands on activity in data centers to add components or reconfigure existing servers to meet new workload requirements.
5. Some operating system installation on Windows Servers following provided documentation.
6. Provide on-call support, including hands on analysis to diagnose and repair hardware related failures. Diagnose and resolve hardware issues in the data center facility.
7. Participate in periodic project related meetings and work sessions to facilitate service delivery as appropriate.
8. Maintain necessary documentation (rack diagrams, cabling spreadsheet) for data center.
9. Work directly with customers on implementation projects.
10. Must be flexible to work occasionally to other data centers in US and Europe.
11. Must be flexible to work occasional second and weekend shifts.

Requirements:
1. Position requires a bachelor's degree or minimum 2 years work experience in similar role.
2. Understanding of operating systems (emphasis on Microsoft), applications, all characteristics/features of hardware being used, and all system performance principles.
3. Ability to debug system problems and develop online procedures for execution of commonly used processes.
4. Thorough understanding of all system components and associated software products. Familiarity with server/network hardware from HP, Dell, and Cisco.
5. Technical flexibility and versatility to effectively configure, install, upgrade, and troubleshoot various systems.
6. Good overall background on Storage, SAN, NAS, VMWare, Blade Centers, copper UTP cabling, fiber cabling, network switches and routers, firewalls, and configuration management.
