  Job Description
Position Overview :-

The Field Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, trouble-shooting and repairing complex computer systems, networks, servers, and computer peripheral equipment, as well as providing a range of IT solutions to these clients.

The Field Engineer is also responsible for training users in effective use of applications and planning, designing, researching, and acquiring new and/or upgraded hardware and software.

On a daily basis the Field Engineer is also responsible for completing work orders, network documentation and maintenance reports, as well as preparing cost estimates.

The Field Engineer is often required to attend pre-sales support meetings with clients as a consultant for the Sales Team.

Skill Requirements :-

* Creates and maintains system specifications
* Creates and maintains disaster recovery procedures for all production systems
* Monitors system and server health and creates implementation plans for upgrades and improvements
* Leads other Field Technicians in system projects and upgrades
* Manages systems projects, coordinates vendors, and tracks project purchases
* Troubleshoots and resolves server and system issues to assure system availability
* Travels to remote sites when needed for new installs, upgrades, support, and disaster recovery
* Installs, upgrades, and maintains the Exchange email infrastructure
* Installs, upgrades, and maintains local and remote SAN hardware and software
* Installs, upgrades, and maintains local and remote server hardware and software
* Performs server upgrades, data migrations, and system maintenance and repair
* Makes recommendations for server hardware and software purchases or upgrades
* Takes proactive steps to avoid down-time through the creation of proper system maintenance procedures
* Insures that all local and remote data is properly backed up by the system administrators and conducts regular quality assurance testing
