Job Details
--As a Linux Administrator you will be part of a team responsible for the following:
--Maintain environment of 200+ Redhat Linux servers
--Maintain Development environment using High End Workstations running Fedora Core and
--VMWare Server with Windows VM's
--Maintain SAN and Tape backup/restore systems;
--Maintain asset management inventory including servers, tape systems, software licenses;
--Administer hosting, ASP service and hardware support contracts;
--Investigate equipment capabilities; acquire quotations, complete purchase orders;
--Maintain a high standard of support for the customer;
--Maintain a positive attitude, and project a high level of professionalism on behalf of IS to the customer;
--Facilitate / Lead Task Force Initiatives for on-demand scenarios;
--Communicate with Customer (written, verbally, face-to-face);
--Build relationships with all Delivery Teams to ensure client expectations are met;
--Handling SNMP alerts sent out when certain hardware conditions occur;
--Provide periodic On-Call support during non-business hours;
--Assist other senior IT staff with projects related to Server management, Network management and deployment.
--Working with the Information security team to plan, implement and manage security policies and procedures
--Working with the Network administration team to plan, implement and manage LAN/WAN solutions.
Skills Required
. Proficiency in Redhat Linux
. Scripting (Perl, shell)
. Systems Administration and support for Linux and Windows Server 2003
. Systems Management tools including performance monitoring and backup/restore.
. Working knowledge of IT support tools and processes which include Remedy and ITIL process
. Working knowledge of a Web/Load Balanced Environment
. Working knowledge of Network/System Security Tools and Policies
. Excellent Communication skills
