  Job Description
Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of a comprehensive test strategy and contribute to the overall IT strategy.
Day to day management of the System Testing team, including management of staff seconded into the team, either from the business or external partners as required
Design and implement testing processes, including automation, to ensure that the testing strategy is delivered effectively
Communicate testing plans with stakeholders around the business
Engage with the business to understand upcoming testing requirements and plan resource appropriately
Performance management (including appraisals) of the permanent members of the System Testing team
Manage several concurrent streams of testing activity to ensure that releases are available for deployment to the agreed schedule
Design and implement defect management processes in order to ensure that defects are highlighted to the development teams and that their progress can be tracked
Mentor, train and develop the permanent members of the Systems Testing team
Maintain awareness of industry best practices and trends
Essential Competencies:

10 years experience in a systems testing role
3 years experience in a system testing leadership role
Excellent working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle
Excellent working knowledge of testing practices and methodologies
Good understanding of performance and load testing methodologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self disciplined and able to motivate a team
Ability to work effectively and prioritise own and teams workload
Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
Desired Competencies:

Experience of working within an Agile development environment
ITSQB Foundation (or equivalent) qualification
Ability to write and execute SQL queries
