  Job Description

The Quality Systems Engineer (Design Assurance Engineer) can join the company on a contract basis or Fixed Term basis. Initially, you will be based out of the Berkshire office working on a defence targeting system and will then move onto a different project based in West Sussex.

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with significant experience of Design Assurance / Quality Assurance. We are looking for the Quality Systems Engineer to have experience of the requirements / design phase of the development systems lifecycle. We are not looking for a Test Engineer.

Ideally, the Design Assurance Engineer / Quality Systems Engineer will be educated to degree level in a relevent discipline: Systems Engineer, Electronics Engineer or have equivalent experience.

The Quality Systems Engineer should have:
• Significant domain knowledge and knowledge of associated products and systems in assigned area (e.g. Flight Controls). May be considered a specialist in a specific systems area or a generalist in multiple systems areas and recognised in their organisation. Provide inputs to technical and product roadmaps.
• Leverage engineering experience to provide DAC support of capture, analyse, decompose, model and create requirements for systems, product or sub-systems of moderate to high complexity.
•Evaluate and provide guidance on verification/validation testing for products and subsystems of moderate to high complexity and contribute to system integration."
• May lead cross-functional/reviews, or lead DAC teams as a Project Engineer, or lead DAC systems engineering team on a small program, or perform as DAC systems engineer supporting verification testing for products and sub-systems of limited to moderate complexity.
• Estimate, track, own and report project technical, cost and schedule aspect for assigned scope of work.
• Leverage experience as a systems verification test lead in integration, verification and validation for products and sub-systems of moderate to high complexity to provide DAC technical guidance and expertise.
• Decisions may have moderate impact on cost, schedule, and performance.
• Understand , utilise, evaluate and support the maintenance of internal processes, methods and tools for systems development and documentation efforts. Review defect trends and recommend new approaches, tools and techniques that drive continuous improvement in technical development processes
•Review, audit, control and validate the application of processes, the documentation produced, and the activities performed by engineering team.
•Ensure programme documentation and activities are compliant with Company processes, with the plans implemented, with product requirements, with customer requirements, with applicable international standards.
• Analyses root causes of deficiencies and ensures proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of quality plans and goals
• Serve in a design quality role (systems) helping to assure that development teams are following appropriate processes.
• Provides guidance and assistance to development teams and life cycle leadership regarding product and process quality requirements related to system, product development.
• Supports engineering team in ensuring Company and supplier products meet applicable business unit and contractual requirements.
• Act as a mentor to more-junior engineers in additional areas including project planning and execution.
