  Job Description
Java - Software Engineer, Bristol - is required to work on our Global client's flagship financial software reconciliation products. You will be involved in the complete product lifecycle from initial requirements definition, software development, solution configuration through to deployment. Design, development, maintenance and unit testing core product source code, predominantly in Java. Experience in the banking/finance industry and a familiarity with Agile methodology is desirable. Degree in Computer Science or similar related discipline is required.

Essential Skills include some of the following:
Java Programming
Practical knowledge of SQL
Experience in some of the following:
Unix (system commands and shell scripting)
Client/Server and n-tier technologies
Web (WebSphere, WebLogic)
Database Technologies (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server)
Java J2EE

Previous experience or knowledge of at least one of the following J2EE Application servers
BEA WebLogic

Previous experience or knowledge of more than one of following Operating Systems
Unix – Aix, HP-UX, Solaris
Linux – RedHat, SUSE
Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista, Server 2003)
Competent knowledge of a RDBMS, at least one of
Oracle 10g, including Oracle RAC
SQL Server 2000 and 2005
Sybase 12.5
