  Job Description
-You are the technical "face" of your product. You need to be happy with its internal make-up and how it fits into the wider picture. You should strive for a best-of-breed solution, taking best advantage of the building blocks that surrounds you.
-The business depends on us delivering what the customer needs, when they need it in order to make profit. This means finding appropriate solutions, delivering them on time, in the most efficient manner possible. Your responsibility is to make this happen and use the project team around you to best effect.
-Your product will most likely last a long time and depend on other products in the portfolio (and vice versa). You need to ensure that you're looking beyond the immediate project and that you're pulling in the same direction as the other Solution Architects
-Your team are crucial to your success - you should seek to magnify your achievement through them. Ensure they are happy, motivated and focussed on their own development, both technical and non-technical.

Key Responsibilities;

-Provide technical leadership for the components you own; Offer design guidance to team members. Be the design authority for the high level solution. Contribute to and review the product code.
-Take responsibility for the time, cost and quality of the project's deliverables within the agreed constraints, reporting progress and risks through the project management structure.
-Define the delivery pipeline for the products you own; Specify the human and automated processes required to get code from inception to production systems. Minimise opportunities for poor quality to be introduced through poor process. Work with your project colleagues to identify where other disciplines can inject value. Seek continual improvement to the process to reduce cost or improve efficiency.
-Look beyond the immediate project priorities to consider the technical evolution of your product and influence the roadmap accordingly.
-Focus on system design that allows us to be flexible to make decisions as late as possible.
-Engage with the Chief Architect to ensure the technical vision aligns with the group-wide strategy.
-Provide day-to-day pastoral care for the people in your team.
-Support the technical development of the members of your team according to need.
-Encourage the development of your direct reports' core competencies to develop adaptable and effective problem solvers.

Core Competencies;

-Excellent knowledge of design patterns, methodologies and object orientated design.
-Excellent knowledge of performing test driven development and using mocking frameworks.
-Significant knowledge of n-tier architecture, domain driven design, and service orientated architecture.
-Significant knowledge of continuous integration, deployment and delivery best practices.
- Broad understanding of a variety of programming technologies and engineering practices.
-Ability to create well designed, reusable objects.

Essential Experience/Skills;

-Extensive experience of web development technologies: ASP.NET, HTML 5, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS
-Knowledge of .NET 4.5 Security Model and/or Windows Identity Foundation
-Extensive knowledge of the .NET 3.5/4.0 Framework, including Visual Studio 2010, C#, ASP.NET, and WCF Web Services.
-Excellent knowledge of Visual C# 3.0/4.0 with a strong understanding of software engineering best practices.
-Strong Knowledge of Windows Forms.
-Strong understanding of multithreaded applications and .NET framework internals.
-Knowledge and experience of source control best practices with Subversion or Team Foundation Server.
-Understanding of complex relational database concepts and design including normalisation.
-Strong Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL experience including SQL Server 2008
-Ability to design and optimize SQL Server 2008 stored procedures.
-Able to produce documentation to a high standard.

Desired Experience/Skills;

-Good experience of developing custom Sharepoint Solutions, web parts, site templates, content types and others to meet Sharepoint requirements
-Experience of Sharepoint related problem resolution in production environment
-Good knowledge of Sharepoint2007/2010 platform
-Knowledge of customising Sharepoint User Interface
-Knowledge of Sharepoint 2013 platform
-Knowledge of Windows Presentation Foundation, Silverlight.
-Knowledge of Entity Framework or LINQ to SQL and ADO.NET.
- Knowledge of Message Oriented Middleware.
-Knowledge of SharePoint 2007, 2010.
