  Job Description
Knowledge, Experience and Technical Know How:

Able to understand and translate business and non-functional requirements to identify the appropriate security design based on the level of risk, and to document the security solutions for communications and enduring documentation.
Strong knowledge of data and information flows, information governance, and network/systems protocols.
Experience in creating security designs incorporating technical security controls, into both cloud and private data center hosted services (i.e. SAP, AWS, etc.).
Experience of incorporating security controls into the design at each stage of the project development lifecycle process working with service providers.
Strong background in security architecture including risk assessments on business requirements, identifying and applying appropriate controls, such as NIST 800 53r4, ISO 27001/2, NERC-CIP,HIPPA, PII, and SOX.
Technical systems background a plus. Strong knowledge and experience designing and implementing technical security solutions such as secure remote access, firewalls, encryption, secure protocols, data protection, data loss prevention and identity management solutions.
Experience of security hardening techniques and security pattern development, particularly operating system hardening (e.g. Windows, UNIX, Oracle).
Appreciation of wider information security related principles, likely to be gained in industry or from a consultancy background.
Ability to communicate security control benefits to the business providing a positive experience that will ensure successful results and repeat engagement with the business.
Proven track record of successfully delivering business requirements to time and budget constraints.
Team player that aligns priorities to the goals and objectives of the business while working both independently and collaboratively.
Prepared to challenge business and IS colleagues and have the "difficult conversations" where needed in the interests of National Grid
Prior utility industry experience preferred, including knowledge of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) and/or Smart Grid.

Qualifications Required:

Educated to degree level (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Information Security Qualifications such as CISSP, ISSAP, and SABSA practitioner preferred.
Security Qualifications such as SANs, CCNA, CCNP.
Familiar with various controls including NIST 800-53r4 and NERC CIP 5.
Familiar with security application lifecycle process frameworks including NIST 800-64.
